Move Your Body – Self-Care September Week One

Self-Care September: Move Your Body

Being an adult in the year of 2026 is a lot to manage.  Work, family, doctor appointments, cooking, cleaning, exercise AND you have to somehow fit in time for yourself?  That’s why Brotherly Bud is taking September to talk about self-care, and how cannabis can help consumers achieve better balance within their life.  Let’s be honest, everyone could use a bit more balance these days.  If cannabis can help make daily tasks more enjoyable, and help us relax, why wouldn’t we fully optimize the plant?

We’ve all heard the stereo-types before.  Stoners are ‘lazy, burn-outs’, and are usually found on a couch eating potato chips.  While many of us do enjoy a comfy couch and a good bag of chips, research indicates a different story.  Many emerging studies show that either cannabis has either no impact or an increase in productivity.  One pilot study in particular showed that participants decreased the amount of time spent on a task, while still performing the same level of accuracy.

This week’s self-care theme is ‘Move Your Body’!  While that includes exercise, not all workout sessions need to be lifting weights, running a marathon or doing as many reps of squats that a body can manage.  Just like cannabis, there’s a stigma around exercise.  Moving your body can and should be fun!  After all, the best exercise program is one that you’ll stick to, and there’s no easier way to stick to a program than to enjoy it!

Making Exercise Fun

But what does enjoyable exercise look like?  Well, that’s up to you!  For each person it’s different.  Some may enjoy a nature hike, others dancing, maybe swimming, or even a walk around your local mall!  All of that counts, and it’s not about how many calories you burned, or how much sweat you produced.  As long as you’re getting your body up and moving, it will positively impact not only your physical health, but also your mental health!  Even yoga is great for you, with one study even showing that combining the practice with cannabis, it increases a positive sense of well-being.

Every body is different, and has different hurdles to overcome.  Thankfully, cannabis can help get those who struggle with issues such as low motivation or pain up and moving.  Trying to exercise while experiencing pain can feel impossible.  That’s when cannabinoids like CBG can help.  CBG helps with overall pain, inflammation and muscle soreness,  which can be effective for post-exercise sessions, when your muscles are recovering. Cannabis seems to be able to not only help with pain, but also increase motivation, for those who have mental blockages instead of physical.

The math is easy.  If cannabis consumption makes tasks more enjoyable, and working out is most likely to be a habit when it’s a method you enjoy, it’s not a reach to infer that cannabis could positively impact our exercise.  Of course, every person is different, so it’s important to consult with your doctor and healthcare professionals before attempting to incorporate cannabis into any routine you have that requires physical exertion.  Cannabis is a tool like any other, and it’s important to use it in the way that makes the most sense for you!

Grown Rouge and Using Cannabis as a Tool to Move Your Body

If you’re sitting there thinking “now what?”, look no further!  Burnt Rubber by Grown Rouge is a great strain to include in your exercise routine.  It contains the cannabinoid we discussed earlier. CBG, which is extremely beneficial to relieve pain, and get your body feeling loose and ready to move!  The peppery, gassy scent alone is enough to perk the senses.  The effects of the strain will leave you feeling euphoric, super motivated and giggly (which is a huge win for those who are a bit anxious about exercise.  What’s a better skill than learning to laugh at yourself?).  The blend of various pain relieving, mood boosting terpenes (Caryophyllene, Limonene, Linalool) make this strain a perfect contender to motivate the body and mind.  But even better than that- make you enjoy it!  Exercise should be fun, and make you feel good.

Stop by Brotherly Bud, pick up some Grown Rouge strains to help get your groove on, put on your favorite playlist, and start moving!
